High School Teacher Arrested In Zaka Over Mbanje And Crystal Meth

A Zaka high school teacher and eight other people have been arrested in separate police raids for possession of dangerous drugs, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said.

Shadreck Chitsama, 47, was arrested on 12 May at a school in Zaka after police acted on a tip-off. 

A search of his residence led to the recovery of a plastic bag containing loose dagga and crystal meth. He was arrested on 13 May for illegal possession of drugs.

In a separate operation on 11 May, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics in Harare arrested four suspects at a truck stop along Simon Mazorodze Road. Christina Mazango, 38, Chelusi Saidi, 26, Priscilla Matros, 32, and Joseph Mangwende, 32, were found in possession of 40kg of dagga.

On the same day, police arrested Howard Chiweshe, Tanaka Tasara, 24, Valerie Manyura, 32, and Regard Gumbo, 25, at the 20-kilometre peg along the Bulawayo–Harare Road in Sharona Park. They were found with loose dagga and Boncleer Cough Syrup.
